My heart hurt one sunny afternoon when the radio told me that storks in Portugal no longer migrate each year to Northern Africa. Instead they live in dumps, and live off garbage that we have amassed. I am ashamed that we could ever alter something so fundamental as a bird flying South for the winter, that we can sway nature in dark ways.
